I Maestri is a unique organisation that helps talented young conductors, soloists, composers and musicians hone their skills and deepen their performing experience through a programme of workshops, masterclasses and public concerts. Drawing inspiration from the Helsinki conducting academy under Jorma Panula and the Pierre Monteux Academy, where generations of conductors were nurtured because of having ‘an instrument’ to work with on a regular basis, I Maestri has become an important institution with conductors, soloists and composers from across the world who come to work with the orchestra and is in demand for tours and other events, such as TV broadcasts and private events.
We welcome new conductors, soloists, orchestra members and composers to come and participate with us!

An extraordinary experience to be sitting a few feet from the orchestra. A wonderful way to observe the skill of players - we were able to hear everything so clearly. A superb performance for the Tchaikovsky violin concerto - which was rightly given a rapturous reception. We will definitely be back to hear more from I Maestri.

What a wonderful Concert . The I Maestri Orchestra are simply outstanding !! The pieces were wonderfully presented and were a super varied programme , The Venue is delightful , perfect place for a concert and very friendly and welcoming Staff.

The venue location was great. Tchaikovsky violin concerto was a pure pleasure to listen to. I am so glad I had a chance to see/listen to it performed live.

I Maestri’s concert was so good. Soloist George Hlawiczka, their founder, played Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto beautifully. Soprano Marion Wilmann was wonderful in the world premiere of Elizabeth Norden’s “Vocalise”. Conductor Luke Cleghorn ensured that the music really came to life and the performance of these two works and Shostakovich’s First Symphony was absolutely captivating. The orchestra were fabulous. Everyone fully deserved the acclaim they received and it was very special experience to be sat so close to them. Highgate URC was a lovely setting with a friendly atmosphere and the organisers gave audience members a very warm welcome. There were refreshments too. I enjoyed it all immensely and would fully recommend these evenings.

I Maestri’s start-the-evening-with-Tchaikovsky programme switch paid off with the Violin Concerto’s stirring first
movement proving an engaging introduction to a piece that
proved a testing workout for soloist George
Hlawiczka, who rose to the challenge. A world premiere of Elizabeth Norden’s Vocalise saw the controlled
performance of
soprano Marion Wilmann easily meet the composer’s ambition that she should be like another
instrument in the orchestra. To finish, Shostakovich’s
1st Symphony spread its goodies around, even to the
piano and the sometimes overlooked percussion. Another I Maestri triumph
